John Godwin

John Godwin is a talented and dedicated professional based in Montgomery, Alabama. He currently has much on his plate, as he works full time and is working toward getting his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Therapy. In addition, John is a loving husband and father. He has two adopted children and loves them with all of his heart.

In February 2023, John Godwin signed on for his current position with KDF Global. Here, he is a Business Development and Relationship Specialist, which requires him to work with the company’s clients. One of his many responsibilities is to develop strategic and logistical plans to help address natural disasters as they occur. Secondly, John is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s long-term clients, including ensuring their needs are met.

John Godwin has had a fascinating career trajectory. Before he worked with KDF Group, he was part of several paralegal teams. John’s first legal role was as Chief Executive Assistant to Alabama’s Attorney General (2007-2011). Here, he worked closely with the Attorney General, providing information and resources as needed. John was also responsible for attending and arranging meetings, planning conferences, and preparing speeches.

Following this, John Godwin became a Senior Paralegal and Assistant to Senior Partner at The Law Offices of Troy King, LLC. He worked in this role for two years, communicating with adjusters and claim handlers on various issues. In addition to these responsibilities, John oversaw and maintained the advertising budget and marketing plans. John’s hard work paid off, and two years later, he was promoted to Managing Partner at The Law Offices of Troy King, LLC. This gave him more responsibilities in addition to the authority. Some of his new responsibilities included managing all employees and staff attorneys, communicating with local advertisers, and handling court cases. John stayed with the firm until February 2023.

For a time, John Godwin worked with the US Air Force Guard. In 2002, he became an Airfield Management Flight Data Coordinator, assisting pilots with their flight plans, tracking weather systems, and more. This role required John to earn top-secret security clearance within the United States Air Force. John held this role for six years before finally moving on to his legal profession.

John Godwin‘s education has been extensive. He started with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism (2007) from Troy University. Two years later, John earned his certification in Advanced Paralegal from Auburn University. However, John’s education was far from over, as he next earned his Master’s Degree in Judicial Administration (2009), also from Auburn University. In 2013, John graduated from the Birmingham School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. More recently, John Godwin earned his Master’s in Strategic and Crisis Communications (Troy University). That brings us to today, as John is pursuing his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Therapy from The University of West Alabama. 

In addition to his professional and academic pursuits, John Godwin cares deeply about his community. He loves spending time with his family and friends and doing everything possible to give back to those around him. In particular, John is passionate about promoting self-improvement through education and professional development.
